Is it really wrong to stand up for yourself?

Like seriously.

In those moments where everyone has something to say about you… everyone thinks they know what’s best… everyone’s trying to project their own version of reality onto your life—are you just supposed to sit there and accept it?

Does that even make sense?

From my point of view, I feel like we have free will for a reason. Not in a reckless ā€œI don’t care about anythingā€ type of way—but in a way that reminds you this is your life.

Think about it like eyesight. Everyone has different prescriptions. The way I see the world is not the way you see it. So yeah, advice isn’t useless—but the real question is… does it actually apply to me? To the life I’m living?

Because honestly, experience is the best teacher.

Most of the time, I’d rather try something, mess up, learn from it… then ask for help after. Not before. Because why am I trying to live some perfect life with no mistakes, no flaws?

That doesn’t even feel real.

I actually think imperfections are what make life… life. Like that’s the whole point.

And even when I do take advice, I don’t just copy-paste it into my life. I tweak it. I adjust it. I make it fit me.

One thing I’ve been working on lately is letting go of that voice in my head that’s always like, ā€œwhat will people think?ā€

Because at the end of the day… this life is mine.

I came here alone. I’ll leave alone.

So why am I letting other people’s opinions control how I act or react?

Not saying I’ve mastered it—it’s still a work in progress. But I’m getting there.

And maybe that’s the point.

So yeah… stand up for yourself. Say what you think. Try to prove your point. Don’t just get pinned down and live some already-written script like:

read → school → job → marriage → kids → done.

If that’s what you want, cool. But don’t just follow it because it’s what everyone expects.

Add some spice to your life.

Do something different. Talk to someone new. Try something you’ve been overthinking for too long.

It doesn’t have to be perfect.

It just has to be real.

Because regret? That’s worse than failure.

That ā€œwhat if I tried?ā€ feeling… yeah, that one stays.

So just try.

Within reason. With respect. But still—try.

Live your life like this day actually matters… because it does.

You don’t get it back.

Vive tu vida.
